Special exercise for November 16th, 2008:

Silence is golden

How often do you find yourself disagreeing with others? Almost seems like a silly question! We disagree with how people handle their relationships and jobs... the way they behave and dress... what they spend their time and money on. This week, work to "silently suffer" this disagreeable self both outwardly and inwardly. Catch yourself anytime you're about to outwardly express judgment, disappointment, or sarcasm to another person, and choose to quietly bear the pressure instead. Then watch as the moment changes because of your effort to put space between your feelings and your reactions. Eventually you'll even start to catch the inner movement that gives rise to these negative, disagreeable feelings in the first place. And the more you work to "go silent" towards any initiating movement as it takes place in you, the more inner gold you'll find awaits!
