Dear Seeker,
"When at last you decide you would rather find your own way, you will also find that you have found yourself."

Special exercise: Find out
Here's some good news -- no one can stop you from investigating what's stopping you. When you begin to suspect that it's not that other person or event that is the cause of your trouble but that it just might be your own expectations and negative reactions that are the source of your pain, now you're ready to take back the reins and find out for yourself what's what. The next time you're burning with anger or impatience or fear, risk doing something completely new -- risk dropping your resistance. No matter what the other person has done or how scared you are to face what might happen, be determined to use this one moment as an experiment for your own benefit. Don't concern yourself with what anyone will think of you or what you might lose. Be willing to find out by yourself and for yourself what happens when you walk right through your own pain, and you will discover a new you is waiting to emerge!
