Dear Seeker,
"There are right books and there are right ideas -- but when it comes down to it, the only way in which you are going to change is when you're sick and tired of living with states that overpower you."
~ Guy Finley

Special exercise: Let the world pass you by
Anyone who has ever argued with another person knows exactly what it feels like to want to have the last word. The urge to "win" comes from an unconscious desire to protect, defend, or assert oneself -- and can be subtle or strong depending on what we're fighting for. But what do we really win? A temporary, false sense of security and power that is quickly forgotten the next time we're under attack, whether it's minutes or months later. Real, permanent power is found not in waging and winning battles, but in not needing to compete in the first place. Because a person who doesn't need to win has no fear of losing. This week, practice at stepping aside when anything (internal or external) pushes you to engage in battle. Safely pull over when the car behind you is tailgating. Refuse to retaliate when someone makes a hurtful remark. Instead of fighting to be right, fight to be Light! By letting negativity pass you by, you rise above its painful world.
