Special exercise: Stay in the game

Who was it that said, the one thing you can be sure of is change? Well, when it comes to our spiritual lives, this is and isn't true. Life is indeed changing all around us -- at the simplest level we see this in the changing of the seasons. But whether you change along with it is entirely up to you. We are invited to change and grow along with life every single moment, and this is never more evident than when we come up against challenges that seem impossible to overcome. In these moments we think life is trying to beat us down, but in reality it's saying, "Let me show you something about you that you don't yet know about yourself." If we give up in those moments, we guarantee nothing changes for us. But if we persist, we will be rewarded with access to a new world -- within us and around us -- that we didn't know existed prior to accepting life's invitation to change along with it.
