Dear Seeker,
"Real spiritual power is to live with an ever-present relationship with an interior light that could no longer make a wrong turn in life than could a river mistake its way back home towards the ocean from which it's drawn."

Special exercise: Do what is true
There is only one way to become a happy, peaceful, true human being, and that is to be a happy, peaceful, true human being. This means that in the moments when I am feeling dark and angry and uncomfortable, I must make a conscious decision to not give life to those states -- period. End of story. This is our work -- true change either happens in the moment or it doesn't happen at all. You can plan to change all you like, but you won't really change until you simply choose to be different when the moment asks it of you, such as by choosing to be kind instead of patronizing, or patient instead of pushy. We are gifted with an internal compass which offers clear guidance in difficult moments, but we must learn to accept its invitation to show us the way. Decide to do what you know to be right and true, despite the "cost" to yourself, and you will be rewarded with a new life.
