Dear Seeker,
"The love I have for you is what you've given me."

Special exercise: True giving starts with receiving
There is a very important principle that has been expressed many different ways. Do good, feel good. Be the change you want to see in the world. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. We all understand the meaning behind these words -- you must first give what you wish to receive. But there is a related, deeper principle that we can work to understand, which is this -- a truly kind, compassionate, and loving person is someone who has first received these states into him or herself. Anytime I give up my "self" love (e.g. my desire to be right, or acknowledged, or approved of) I make room for true Love's higher guidance. In this way, the receiver of these higher states is able to then give them freely with "no strings attached." Work to see the difference between giving to receive, and receiving to give.
